In the interview Kuwalu speaks about not playing slack key for almost 40 years since 1950, and how before that his guitar went everywhere with him. Kuwalu also explains the back-story of the song, "Sweet Hāhā ʻAi A Ka Manu." This is followed by Kuwalu explaining the style of kī hoʻopā or tapping way of slack key guitar playing which is two people playing the same guitar, one playing regular slack key while the other taps the keys to create a beautiful sound.
