Topics include: his involvement in policy-making and platform writing for the Democratic party in the 1950s; advocating for an inter-island ferry system beginning in 1956; conducting an analysis of tax assessment policies in 1958 and its political repercussions; the 1962 Maryland Land Bill for land reform; his proposal for the Hawaiʻi Transit Authority; experiences as senate president; Gov. Burns' opposition to the land reform bill; opposition to the 1970 abortion bill; opinions on legislative salaries and retirement benefits; and the state land bank idea as a method of land reform and affordable housing.
